Fantastic book with great illustrations that make it so so easy to identify plants and propagate them. If you have never tried grafting or propagation you need to. It is really fun to play with flowers and trees. I have had limbs break from trees and actually grafted them back on and they have formed a "scar" and survived happily. You can also graft different colored roses together to have multi colored rose bushes....multiple types of fruits on one tree. Propagation and grafting is great. And easy. So is this book.
I was given a copy of this years ago and have filled it with notes. I keep needing to lend it to people so now I need a new copy! It's extremely helpful. I was/am a beginner but this book gave me the courage to try propagation.
It's a plain, straightforward introduction to many means of propagating plants.
This book treats propagation in a very thorough manner, telling how all types of propagation are carried out, as well as some tips on easier or best practices. A great reference for those who enjoy gardening. The book has good illustrations for many propagation methods. The book, however, does not cover special plants such as orchids or some modern propagation methods such as tissue culturing, flasking, etc.
