It looks like I'm posting one of the first lower scored to negative reviews for this book. I hate to leave negative scale reviews, but I ultimately end up posting them when I feel strongly about a book and hope that the author might gain some positive criticism from the review for their future endeavors. I also leave them for the benefit of other readers who like to focus on the details as I do.The better parts of the book:I'm leaving 2 stars instead of one due to the fact the aliens in the book sounded semi attractive and the leading male in this installment has potential, but the real stand out guy in the book is Hadrian. The areas that need improvement, lots of discrepancies:- The paralyzing semen was HORRIBLE anxiety inducing, NOT a turn on! Seriously, when the male would cum in the female she would be paralyzed for a good while to let the 'seed' take hold. Oh and let's not forget to mention he DID NOT EVEN WARN HER THE FIRST TIME IT WOULD HAPPEN. So not only did she not want sex, it was pretty much rape even though she did not fight him, he still should have warned her! What a jerk! It was ALL about him. Just wanting to breed this alien. She was terrified! And her thoughts of the situation made it clear she did not want sex with him in the beginning and just did not fight him to try and make it easier on her. And then there's paralyzing cum!? Oh gah... NO.- Forced submission / rape vibes. This is so played out in the alien romance genre! Can this be put to rest for a while? Perhaps with actual communication and better dialogue between characters so the males actually understand that in human culture it's not okay the books feeling would drastically improve. You would think with everyone having their panties in a twist with the MeToo movement lately this wouldn't be such a popular topic. But boy, in alien romance it's like let's rape the females and then when they get upset brush it off and the female just magically gets over it. Uh...no... The female BARELY explained that what he was doing was wrong. and that was AFTER she just gives in and says basically let's just get this over with. So just because you didn't fight, and you still didn't want it at first, it's 'rape' pretty much...but that never gets the proper conversation or emotional processing. And she did not explain it in depth or in a way to make him understand what she was trying to get across to him. Then when Calix (another male character) was touching another female without consent the main male brushed off the female like it was no big deal. The other male Calix also didn't see the issue. And the female, Aria, made no effort to use the incident as a teaching moment, but ended up showing her butt and stomping off to another area of this 'facility'.- The female Aria did not make hardly ANY effort to stop the experimentation / forced impregnation they kept calling 'implantation' attempts on the other human females in cryo sleep. WTF ? This should have been a hard line drawn in the sand. Instead this main female is all going around getting to know all the guys, having sex after she got over the whole rape vibe etc etc and basically until the end of the book ignores the other females. She made no complaints about the forced implantation attempts. And she's basically okay with all of the women just stuck in cryo.-When she snatches one of the other girls to keep Calix from touching her, she doesn't even have appropriate dialogue to explain to the new girl, Emery, what is going on and does a piss poor job of looking out for her.- She has a miscarriage from her first, while she was sleeping, implantation that ended up failing and there is like one to two lines where she kinda sorta is bothered by that then breezes on over it.... umm...- The planet is apparently not habitable outside of the facility. Well, dang...that's depressing AF.- So they have a spaceship and have space travel, but they didn't just leave that planet and go to one that's habitable instead? You know like to have a better life...find females instead of stealing them?- Also, if the radiation is that bad that they need suits....how are they safely able to eat the animals they kill sometimes top side? These animals would have significant levels of radiation as well. How are they surviving? Was this just a radiation level in reference to the UV rays that this species could not tolerate? So then is that why the meat was okay? There were just a lot of unanswered questions / details left out. There were just too many negatives in this book. There should definitely be an updated description on this book. And I'm still trying to figure out where all these graveling adoring reviews come from where they never take issue with anything in these romances where the females just cave in to the males and there is next to no emotional processing.

I've read just about everything that K. Webster has written and a few of Nicole Blanchard's books, so I was totally jazzed for this one. And with very good reason. It was so good. I mean, just soooooo good.Breccan and his morts are the last 10 beings left on their planet until 2 of his morts bring back 5 human women in stasis. And miracle of miracles, they are compatible. Then Aria wakes up and Breccan goes a little crazy.I felt so bad for Breccan and his morts. I mean, they totally broke my heart. The situation that they have found themselves in, through no fault of their own, is just devastating. I couldn't do what they do. And then Breccan and his UV addiction. Oh man.I also feel so bad for Aria. I mean, she's been stuck in stasis with no clue as to what's going on and she wakes up in pain, and then some alien wanting to be with her. It has to be so terrifying for her to try and figure out what she needs to do. I don't blame her for being sad, scared, angry, or whatever else she may be feeling. She has every right to those feelings.A lot of the problems that go on in this book are because two cultures are trying to get together and that is never easy, but they don't even really have a common place to start from, so it's even harder than it would be for 2 humans getting together from 2 cultures. So, there's a lot of problems around that. This story is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes incredibly joyful, and sometimes incredibly frustrating, but always incredible.

The Forgotten Commander was exhilarating! K Webster and Nicole Blanchard teamed up to give us a really sexy sci-fi story. Breccan is from the planet Mortuus which happens to be dying out. When he and his fellow morts stumble on some human women, they decide that cross breeding is a way to help the planet and keep morts from becoming extinct. Aria is the first to be awoken and tested upon. Once Breccan sets his sights on her, he has to have her. As the story unfolds, romance blossoms between this unlikely pair. There are challenges that lie ahead, will Aria and Breccan survive this? Will Breccan's plan to procreate Aria be successful? This book was unique, steamy, taboo, captivating, and all-consuming. I was hooked from the start and can't wait to see what happens in the continuing saga, of The Lost Planet series. This is a must read for sci-fi romance readers.

I love K Webster, I know when I pick up a read of hers that I’m in for a delicious read. When I heard about this series, I was intrigued to see what I was going to get, however I was NOT disappointed!Between K and Nicole, they created a whole world that I was able to get lost within. Even with the new words and creatures within the story, it was like I was learning along side Aria. And Breccan? PHEW! I would have offered myself up for him... I’m a sucker for an alpha and boy was he EVA!!I want to find the spaceship that took me to this world, to send me back!! Hop to it, you two, I need more of The Lost Planet series! If you are in search of something that will take you out of this world, THIS IS FOR YOU!

TFC was so amazing to read. We meet a dying race of men that are the last of their kind. And when Aria wakes to find pale vampires she freaks out accordingly. But what unfolds between her and the forgotten commander is beautiful. Loved the story and can’t wait for book 2. And there is no cliffhangers so nobody get their panties in a twist.

The Morts bring back 5 human woman to their planet in hopes to breed with them as they are a dying alien breed. There are only 10 Morts left on the planet after devastating circumstances.I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing the first baby born as well as seeing if there is a cure found for the ailing human.

As many others have already reviewed this book, I won't go into details regarding plot and characters. Suffice it to say, 'Finders Keepers' is a good book by one of my favorite writers. But that's all. It's not great. It's only mildly scary. It's very predictable. And it is somewhat formulaic.Knowing that this one is part of a trilogy of Detective Hodges, things start to make a lot more sense. The funny part is that the part that Hodges and his accomplices play in this book could have been filled by anyone. There was no apparent linkage between this a Mr. Mercedes beyond the fact that the father of the main character was hurt in the crash in that book. In reality, this book could have stood alone, and it seems like King wrote is expressly to make this a trilogy, possible to generate excitement and improve uptake of the story.I say this because the role that Brady Hartsfield plays this book is, while mildly creepy, not really necessary. His role really has nothing to do with the plot of the book. So it seem as though the sole reason he is mentioned is because this will be a trilogy and because Hodges is obsessed with him. But he didn't have to be in the book. It wouldn't have impacted the plot whatsoever. So, if you are a King fan, go ahead and read it. It's not bad. It's just not his best and I'm not sure that some of the characters and plot elements were necessary to tell the story.

So many people have already rated this book so I doubt this will be read by anyone. But here goes anyway. These two books... Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers, though the books didn't have any other worldly characters or monsters, doesn't make it any less terrifying and leaves to our imagination that there may be some very real monsters who may live next-door and we just don't know about it.These two books are classic King which means a total page turner and gripping suspense to the last.Stephen King has said that he doesn't write about extra ordinary people who deal with normal things but instead he writes about regular people who are in extraordinary situations. That's almost a direct quote from him.I enjoyed every part of it. I listened to the audible versions of these two books and say that the narrator was one of the best that I've ever heard and was so completely appropriate for these Stephen King books. Only having Stephen King narrate them could have been any better.I highly recommend these two books and state unequivocably that this is the best "King" writing that he is done in about five years.

We have mixed feelings about the aptly titled “Finders Keepers”, a sequel of sorts to King’s earlier “Mr. Mercedes” novel. This one opens with a crazed burglar, William Morris, robbing famous author John Rothstein, who has been silent for a couple of decades, of not just cash but dozens of moleskin notebooks containing two unpublished novels and other writings – and then kills him because he doesn’t like the direction Rothstein took his hero (Jimmy Gold) in the last published work. Morris thought a rare bookstore owner was going to sell the notebooks for millions and make them both rich, but the guy refuses, saying to wait a decade or two. In frustration, Morris goes out, gets drunk, rapes and assaults a woman, and spends some 35 years in jail before he finally gets out on parole. (He had previously hidden the cash and notebooks in a trunk he buried near a pond adjoining the back of the property where he lived.)Then we meet the Saubers who now reside in Morris’ old house; the parents of 13-year-old Peter and his younger sister Tina are struggling in both their marriage and their finances. Peter stumbles upon the buried treasure and parcels out the money to his parents anonymously through the mail with like $500 payments for several years. He meanwhile reads all the author’s writings and loves them and thinks about trying to sell the notebooks to guess who – the same guy who refused Morris. Meanwhile his sister Tina suspects Peter was the source of the monthly cash and tells retired cop Bill Hodges, the guy who solved the case in the prequel. Hodges tries to intervene with Peter before it gets too late. When Morris gets out of prison and finds his trunk empty, he suspects the book dealer and on we go. The suspense heightens as he discovers it was Peter who took all; and he doesn’t care who he has to kill to get the stuff back.We think this would have made a great novella – without the follow-up to the earlier book which was somewhat tangential. As is, it was sort of long and drawn out despite a catchy premise and a suspenseful ending. Several readers find deeper meaning in the obsession of first Morris and then Peter with the author and his works, but we didn’t work hard enough to figure out what that might be. We love our good books too, but not to the point of murder and skullduggery!

After reading Mr. Mercedes I had to buy this second book in the trilogy of Bill Hodges. It was like quicksand and I was sucked in immediately and instead of trying to pull myself out, which without immediate plans, I don't think that I could have anyway, I spent my Saturday with Bill and his friends. It was worth every minute and every hour. There is never a dull moment, with King's books there rarely is. What did I do before I even wrote this review? You guessed it, I bought the final book in the trilogy. I'm forcing myself to wait before I start it because I do need to spend the rest of my Saturday accomplishing something outside of the quicksand. I do, however, recommend that you download this and slip into the quicksand. Put off everything else for a while because sh#t ain't sh#t.
